Celebrating
AMERICA'S 250th Birthday
with this patriotic hit by our
award-winning
Kelli Grant the Queen of Swing
.

This year we Celebrate AMERICA'S 250th Birthday as well as the 25th Anniversary of 911. Silverfalls Records and its roster would like to thank each and every soul that has given so much and continue to do so and to those who have sent their sons and daughters out to foreign lands to protect our freedom.

And for the lost souls who died for no reason other than they were American's September 11th, 2001, I rejoice in the fact that the cowards who perpetrated this astrocity and obscene act died, too.

"I Wouldn't Go ... "
    Stand Up for the U.S.A.

The recitation written for my Dad who was apart of the GREATEST GENERATION,
Seaman 3rd Class James Robert Johnson is my way of honoring him and to say thank you to the GREATEST GENERATION and all who have fought so valiantly then and now for our FREEDOM.

it was heard on radio station across the country 2011 commemorating
the 70th Anniversay of Pearl Harbor.

I offer this with my deepest apprecitation and gratitude to the above mentioned. Thank You ~ Kelli Grant ~

2. Stand Up for the U.S.A.

2011, was a very important year as far as events in America’s history. The 10 th anniversary of September 11 th, and …
it marks the 70 th year since the bombing of Pearl Harbor, December 7 th, 1941.

Footnote: Heard across America, Dec. 7 th, 2011,
my Dad passed away the night before with local
stations dedicating their broadcast to him.

My Dad, who is now 89, has never been a person who boasted or even discussed anything about his tour of duty. Until recently, I did not know to what extent Daddy had played in the war. The USS Core Aircraft career was apart of a convoy that escorted Destroyers from New York to Casablanca. Fortunately, he saw action only once when a Japanese bomber descended onto the ship. It was shot down but the pilot was rescued from the ocean. The only comment my Dad made, was that the man spoke better English than he did. The Japanese pilot had attended college in America.

My Dad was only 17 when he enlisted. However; watching an airplane fly into the twin towers of the World Trade Center on September 11 th, 2001 and feeling the anxiety of those who were trapped inside as they plummet to their death, was a rude awakening. I am truly embarrassed that I was not more patriotic or openly thankful to my Dad and to all those who have fought so bravely to protect my insignificant way of life.

I wrote the poem, "I Wouldn’t go …" as my way of saying thank you to; not only my father, Robert Johnson apart of the "Greatest Generation" but to all of the men & women who continue to protect our freedom today.

The song heard in the background, "
Stand Up for the U.S.A." was written several years before the obscene act of September 11 th, 2001. Also a gift to my Dad was first included on the CD, "Blues to Me!"; I consider 911 to be one of the "bluest" days in America’s history. The version heard behind the recitation is from my award winning CD, "Swings & Sings".

The song has received rave revues by D.J.’s all across America with their comments declaring it a,

"Powerful piece of music."

Hall of Fame D.J., Mike Gross proclaimed it,

"… the unofficial anthem of the 21 st Century."

And although not nominated, it was on the Grammy voting list for "Best Country Song".

Chuck Conrad, KZQX was so impressed with the recitation that he personally solicited radio stations all across the country to include it as apart of their dedication on December 7 th. 2007. With the world; literally, available with the click of the mouse, Chuck sent MP3’s to every affiliate station. He too, feels that those who give and gave all to protect our shores should never, ever be forgotten.

I offer this recitation and
song with my deepest gratitude, love and respect to the Greatest Generation, to the troops who are protecting us now, to their families, and to all of the families and loved ones of our fallen heroes. Because … "I promise, if it were left to me, "

"I Wouldn’t Go …".

Johnny,

The link worked fine and I've emailed it to other radio stations on the listserver group.

As for airing it, here is my plan as it stands. At noontime December 7th, we'll play an into using part of FDR's speech "A Day That Will Live in Infamy," then Kelli's song, followed by National Anthem. It's just a little flag waving that I think our listeners will enjoy and we all should do every once in awhile. I've suggested that other stations do something similar.

Thanks.

Hi Johnny,

I got the CD yesterday and hadn't had time to listen to it until today. I like it. I'd like to play it on December 7th, I'm thinking of doing at noon, with some promotional announcements (be sure to tune in, etc.) a few days before.

In fact, maybe I could talk Kelli into doing the promo. "Hi, this is Kelli Grant reminding you to tune into QX-FM for a very special tribute to the Greatest Generation and today's troops. That's December 7th at 12 noon, right here on KZQX." Or at least something to that effect. What do you think?

I was thinking I might send it to a few other LPFM stations like ours around the country, and maybe we could al play it at more or less the same time. Who knows, we might start something.
