After headlining on a show out of Nashville with “Mr. Action”, Roy Moss was so impressed that he contacted Paul Kosel, Warner Bros. PR Germany (who was also the President of Eagle Records, Warner Bros. German affiliate.) Paul flew to Dallas rented a car and drove to Longview, Tx. to meet Kelli Grant. He took the 2 albums she had recorded with Mickey Moody, ABC-Dot records Engineer / Producer and released them as one double CD. Kelli was paid $9000 up front retaining complete and total ownership of the original tracks.

The CD was half top 40 country originals and excellent remakes of some of the best pop / jazz standards ever written. Receiving high praises for the classic pop half, the CD topped the charts at #4 in Belgium and #7 in Holland prompting the scheduling of a 7 (seven) country tour in Europe: Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. Due to health reasons and a family crisis, Kelli never made the tour but the CD gained momentum, recognition and popularity making her an “overnight sensation.”

Many years later, it was released in the states as, “Softer Side of Swing” with 5 tunes added including Kelli’s riveting and passionate original, “If You Were the One”.
In 2006, that song and the CD were placed in contention by the Grammy reviewing board: song for “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance” with the CD being one of only 36 on the Grammy voting list for Consoderation,  “Best Traditional Pop Album.” Although neither were nominated the CD holds it’s own as one of Kelli’s favorites and most requested by fans and the industry.
